Biography COOLPLAY was founded by singer Simon in December 2002. Simon decided to start the band as he is a great Coldplay fan and after seeing them on tour in 2002 couldn't think of a better musical job than sharing their music with others. As Coldplay gigs sell out within hours and are a rare event, Simon saw COOLPLAY as a way to let people appreciate the music who might otherwise not be able to get to a real Coldplay gig.
